NEW YORK--LA HOOK-UP 1974 Dialogue with Keith Sonnier

NEW YORK-LA HOOK-UP took place on January 21, 1974 as Keith Sonnier's contribution to the Video Performance show at 112 Greene Street, an artist-run space in New York. It consisted of an amplified telephone link between 112 and the Grinstein residence in Brentwood, LA, where Sonnier himself was located at the time. This interview by Liza Béar discusses the piece and also Sonnier's earlier works in 1973 and 1974 linking separate locations by Citizens Band and automobile radio.
